Art For Sale!

Tonight while I was cooking dinner, Indy came into the kitchen and showed me this picture.
Me: Oh, its beautiful!
Indy: Its for you.
Me: Thank you! (reaching for picture)
Indy: (pulling picture back) It costs $7.
Me: (pretending to hand her some money) Here ya go.
Indy: (still holding the picture back) No, Mom... Real money!
When did this happen?!?!!?

Lol! She probably listened to me!I (www.artcareerexperts.com)encourage all parents of children who like to draw to give them a small sketchpad and encourage them to draw one object a day-while eating, shopping, etc. That teaches them to work in public (a great ego booster) accept compliments and also build a body of work and improve theior skills...YES let them charge! That puts value on their work AND time-a must have skill for later use in life as an artist! Pay the money put have her open a savings account for it. WHat fabulous life lessons! Smart child you have!

I love that girl! Now you know that she will be able to take care of you and Eric when you are old...she will be quite the tough sales expert.

One day after Kristen had been playing with an old adding machine from work - she left a "receipt" on our bed of what we owed her for letting us be her parents.

Maybe Indie and Kristen are long lost soul sisters!

She is too funny. BTW so good to see you the other day, I've missed my Trish.
